THE “JEWISH HEROES” PROJECT: DIGITAL RECONSTRUCTION OF FORGOTTEN BIOGRAPHIES IN THE CONTEXT OF SOVIET REPRESSIONS

The goal of the project is to fill gaps in the historical heritage by introducing into scientific and public circulation biographies of little-known and forgotten personalities, whose life trajectories and activities have not received due coverage in historiography. The “Jewish Heroes” project sets the task of expanding the pantheon of Jewish historical figures beyond the canonized names, presenting the extraordinary fates of ordinary participants in historical processes. The publication of over 1,500 archival documents and 200 biographical narratives makes rarely available archival materials accessible to a wide audience in a scientifically verified and ethically correct presentation.
